A Proud Tradition from Nepal
Go Natural with Lokta
For over a thousand years, lokta paper has been a staple of artisans in Nepal. It is made from lokta bushes that grow naturally on the southern slopes of the Himalayas, between 5,250 and 13,000 feet above sea level.
Strips of the inner lokta bark are cooked in vats into a pulpy mash, spread by hand across screens and set to dry in the Himalayan sunshine. The paper forms with a texture that makes each sheet unique.

Writing in it
Will ink show through?
At 200 gsm, the pages help reduce ghosting, bleed and feathering, so both sides of every page are ready for writing.
Is one side rougher?
Not on this notebook. The washi method leaves both sides of the sheet smooth, so it writes the same on every page.
Why is every notebook different?
The paper is made by hand, one sheet at a time, so texture, flecks and deckled edges vary a little. No two notebooks are the same.
